Aside from being the most populated country in Africa, Nigeria is known for some pretty popular tourist attractions.

Nigeria may not be as classic as Las Vegas, Dubai, Paris, Hawaii, or any other top-ranking beautiful cities in the world. In fact, scratch that; it is not. That is a fact. But that cannot be translated to mean that there are no beautiful places in Nigeria. That will be a wrong assertion.

The country is unique and its definition of fun is also very unique. There are spots and beautiful locations in Nigeria that offer great vacation experiences. To take a vacation in the aforementioned places, will not always cost you a fortune. Actually, it doesn’t, unless maybe you are doing it in grand style.

The beautiful places in Nigeria for a vacation are relatively cheap. Every middle-class individual can afford them. For instance, the cost of processing your visa to Paris or Dubai is enough to spend quality time in Obudu cattle ranch and you will still have balance. We are not talking about other travel itineraries that will be taken into consideration.

Oh yes they don’t offer the same experiences and fantasies. It will be better to spend your vacation in Dubai than to spend it in Calabar. It is that simple.

Spending time in beautiful places in Nigeria does have its numerous advantages that of course, we are not interested in right now. The most important thing is to know these great places and when you want to have a vacation, you can reach out to one of them.

  1. Ado-Awaye Lake, Oyo State

There are only two suspended lakes in the world. One in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado, USA and the second right here in Africa, Oyo State in Nigeria to be precise.

This natural beauty is the Ado Awaye Suspended Lake. It is a body of stagnant water located on the mountains. It takes about an hour of rigorous climbing of a staircase of over 369 steps that go through a bush path to get to this breathtaking sight  -  a diameter shaped lake with green like water.

So many folktales surround the origin of this lake. Some believe it leads to another world, for others, it definitely contains mysterious powers which is why many visitors leave with bottles of its water.
